Why Should you take maternity photos?
Documenting this time in your life allows you to celebrate the new life being brought into the world. All of the changes a woman's body goes through and the next stage. It strengthens the bond between you and your partner allowing you to take a step back and focus even for just an hour on your love for one another. Even if you don't feel like you have the motherly glow take the photos because you might regret not having them.
When should I Schedule my photos & How long of a session?
On average with single pregnancies it is anywhere between 28-35 weeks and somewhere around 30 for multiples. It is totally your call when to have them taken you don't have to wait until the very end. If you're feeling great and want to take them earlier you are welcome to do that.
Typical sessions are 30 minutes
should I share inspiration photos with my photographer?
I personally love it when clients bring me ideas. You can share Pinterest boards, email me photos, give me a theme, or specific poses and I am happy to incorporate them into sessions. At the end of the day I want you happy with the images you recieve so the more we communicate the better.
Do I have to know how to pose?
Absolutely not! That is why I am here it help position your body to look its best. I have experience and I have done a lot of research on posing to highlight your precious bump.
What should I wear? Any Sites you recommend
Maternity sessions can be as casual or dressy as you want them to be. Jeans and a sweater work just as well as a dress. Keep your color choices simple. For dresses I recommend something body hugging or sits above the bump. Whatever you choose try it on before your session to make sure it fits and looks the way you want it to. Also keep the weather and temperature in mind.
I have had luck with: Baltic born, Pinkblush
I also have a limited client closet and would be happy to lend items if I am able.
How long should older children stay?
If you want to include your older children in only part of the session, it’s a good idea to make plans for an extra adult to be there to help (depending on age). That way, you don’t have to worry about keeping them calm or entertained.
Your maternity session is about you and your growing family! I am here to support you and document this time in your life.
